This is a 1920×1080p monitor running at 60Hz. First game ran is the PS3 game The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon which itself blows away my old SDTV. It now currently sits on my desk, used as an external monitor for my laptop and a gaming monitor for my PS3.

Activating the sRGB color mode makes those colors really pop out of the screen for both PC and PS3 use. It doesn’t matter whether the game runs at 720p or 1080i/1080p, the panel scales the games perfectly with no noticeable artifacting. (Though 480p looks crap.)

After owning this monitor for nearly 5 months, I can say this is such an impressive display. On my laptop, it makes typing and reading websites a complete joy. Text is crisp, HD videos from Youtube looks stunning and video editing is much easier. Gaming is very improved as well. Warhawk is much clearer, Sniper Rifles are easier to use, Assassin’s Creed truly shone and Burnout Paradise was simply amazing. Ratchet and Clank ran at a silky smooth 60FPS on the monitor, but I somewhat stopped when I became motion sick at the space station levels.

I have much more to say about this panel, but that’s all for now. Great deal at $160.
