    You can type Hiragana and Katakana, and Kanji too, using Windows via the IME keyboard mapping. It is a small thing if you search Google you will find a place that tells you how to set it up.

  13. you can do it even …
    you can do it even with an american keyboard. Download the software (that you probably got when you bought the computer) and add the language tool bar. Be sure to install the language first though. Switch the language bar to Japanese and output to hiragana and you have yourself a Japanese keyboard. You can very easily toggle between English and Japanese so it’s not very hard to use.
