Im trying to learn Japanese and I thought it’d be fun to watch some of their educational programs and I dont know a lot so I thought it would be good to start from the beginning so any educational ones would be good but Id really prefer preschool level right now. Thanky!

Creative, interactive preschool lesson plans snow theme?

I am in a Child Development class where high school students develop creative, hands-on, interactive, and intellectual lesson plans for the preschool the high schoolers run. The children are mostly age 3, some are 4 years old. Any teachers or moms on here that have websites with or know any creative, hands-on, interactive lesson plans that help children learn physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially and also help with gross/fine motor skills? Our theme is snow/winter and we don’t have that many activities planned yet.Thanks so much!

One of my students’ favorites was when I would fill the water table with snow, sprinkle some diluted food coloring on top, and let them experiment with filling various size and shaped containers with snow.

Art and literature ideas too.

Hello Looking for some preschool homeschooling tips. My son is going to be three in September and after 2 years of working part time, I am going back to being a Stay At Home Mom. I want to utilize a good portion of our time by doing educational sorts of things. I’ve found some great reference websites and am just looking for some personal tips and tricks on here! Thanks in advance.

Kids don’t need a lot of formal education at that age.

Mainly imaginative play is important, because it teaches them so much about different roles and life situations, and how to react and socialize. Playing store, house, post office, school, etc.

Physical activities like crafts, dancing, ball, or playing with those dolls that have buttons, zippers, snaps, etc., is excellent for teaching motor skills.

Reading stories is important to help impart a love of literature and open their minds to different ideas.

Play counting and alphabet games to help pave the way to reading and math later.

Games that promote memory (like "concentration" style card games), recognition of color and shapes (Candyland, simple puzzles), sorting and organizing skills (categorizing kitchen utensils or toys by type, finding the thing that doesn’t belong), etc… these are also very important to build on at that age.

Lots of exploration and stimulation– go on field trips, nature hikes, put out a container of sand or water on the porch for a day, handle ice in the tub, smoosh shaving cream in their hands, make cookies and muffins, go to the zoo, museum, botanic gardens, etc…

I’m having troubles finding free printable worksheets that are very basic/simple/easy for children ages 2-4. What are some good websites that offer this. I’m mostly looking for letters, numbers, & shapes.

Can anybody give me an estimate how much a two days a week half day preschool program cost for a two year old?

I would like to find out how much preschool cost for my two years old daughter. Since I am home with her I would like her to attend only two days a week from like 9AM-12PM. I know that the prices vary, but I just need an estimate. I checked out websites, but of course they don’t post their tuition on their sites.

You need to call. But really, she is too young for a program. Get her out in the community to stuff like Library Story Time or toddler dance/tumbling. Look into programs at the local parks & recreation. Pushing her early into a program will just lead to frustration. I have taught ‘mixed age classes’, ages 3-5. The ‘baby 3s’ as I called them, like to play and keep to themselves and struggled to ‘fit in’. Save your money, and put it in a college fund for her. Wait to PreK to send her to a program.

Im writing lesson plans in my class for school and i need some facts about the spring time but they must be simple spring time facts. Any preschool websites would be helpful as well. Thank you!

No one knows better judgement than you. Take a tour, ask around, go on Angie’s list. It costs money, but it’s helpful.
